Equi-Pulse: PEMF

Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Device

The Equi-Pulse (also known as the MagnaWave), is a PEMF device. PEMF stands for Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field. The device produces a magnetic field, which is applied to an area of the body, and potentially produces many positive benefits. Originally used as a device to help individuals with depression, PEMF devices began generating more attention because the results it created were beyond psychological. People began to feel better, physically.

Magnetic Therapy has been around for thousands of years. Many believed that magnets were a way to energize the body’s life force. Fast-Forward to the Middle Ages, magnets were thought to be beneficial for almost any condition. In the 1700s, Franz Anton Mesmer, wrote his doctoral thesis on the effects of gravitational fields on human health ( Today, individuals use Magnetic tools all over the world, creating a market that sells jewelry and even beds that include magnetics, used to help alleviate issues, physical or psychological.

Magnetic benefits are not a myth in that there have been thousands of studies at the University level conducted on humans, learning that, the bigger the magnetic field, the better and faster results will be produced.

How It's Used on Equine Animals:

In recent years, the equine industry has seen an oncoming wave of owners using Equi-Pulses (PEMF systems), used at racetracks and barns. There are many beneficial aspects found to help horses with muscle soreness, laminitis, bruises, non-healing wounds, and more.

In a typical session, PEMF loops are introduced and applied on many areas on the horse including any areas that the horse may feel discomfort. During the first session, the horse may feel uncomfortable about the loops or how to makes them feel, yet in time and they will begin to enjoy the session. After a session, owners generally notice an improvement in how their horse moves, behaves, and feels. This improvement is usually magnified with regular weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions.**
